Is the stress of this year taking its toll on you? Try this today!

Sep 20, 2020

So imagine a life where, instead of feeling anxious, rushed, tense, and worried, you feel relaxed, calm, and in control all day long.

Sound impossible? Okay, I admit it might be a tall order in our current state of affairs, BUT it is my mission at the Be THAT Mom Movement to provide you with tools to help you navigate being a mom while proactively navigating all of the digital things with your kiddos as well as provide you with knowledge and tools to take care of yourself too, for you are the foundation for your family, and are highly needed and irreplaceable!!!

So in that light, have you ever tried meditation?

2020 has been one crazy year to say the least, and if you are not using meditation as a tool for navigating this wild and weird year, I highly recommend you give it a go. I’m no expert at it, and on most days fight my mind from running in a thousand different directions for even a minute of meditation, but even just a minute is better than none.

Meditation has been proven to help lower stress, decrease anxiety, promote positive physical and emotional health, improve sleep, and help boost self-esteem, as well as renew energy, improve your mindset, and create a stronger connection between your mind, body, and soul.

Did you just say yes please, to all the above? We all need some sliver if not all of that right now right???

The compound effect of all the benefits will assist you in making healthier decisions in all parts of your life, which will help you lose unwanted weight, reduce the weight gain, and find more balance and ease doing all the mom things, and when you combine all of that with a morning routine for own self-preservation, it is truly the perfect way to start your day and help you be the best you in everything you do!

If you are looking to get into a routine for meditation, one great free resource is the Insight Timer app. I like to turn this on and pop my air pods in first thing in the morning as I drink my pre-workout (AKA my Liquid Courage because loving exercise is a learned thing over here in #asthmasucks and #veggiehater land lol).

I also sometimes listen to it at night as I go to sleep to prime my mind for restful sleep. It has all sorts of meditations, readings, and reflections, with religious and spiritually based options. You can filter them by the length of time you have too, so if time is limited, you can use that to find ones that are short with what works for you. you can also filter by type of meditation or topic you prefer. (no affiliation, just shouting out what has helped me the most)

If you are into spiritual things, another great resource is Gabby Bernstein’s Miracle Membership with a small monthly fee. She has a Facebook group for extra support and adds great new resources every month. (no affiliation, I just love her stuff).

As a sidenote, if anxiety and sleep are big issues for you right now, I also highly recommend My Soul CBD for a high quality, natural, US sourced, THC free CBD product (the only one I endorse or trust). (Use code BETHATMOM for a discount when you order!). Check out their website for more info on CBD and its many natural health benefits.

Combine the above with a rock solid workout/nutrition routine that will help you navigate all the stressful things these days, and you will have a solid foundation on which to stand as you face the unknowns that this year continues to bring.
