Speaker 1: (00:00)
Hey there, here we are for another episode. I'm so, so excited today to talk about the topic at hand, because if you have younger kids or maybe you have one that's older and now you have a younger one and you're like, Whoa, I need to make different decisions this time. I'm not going to give that phone so young, but I don't know what other things I can use. I still need to keep in touch with them while I've got another option. I want to share with you. It's not something new, but it is not something I have reviewed on here. So I wants to get it out into your ears so you can explore it for your younger kids so they can stay safe, stay connected, but not be connected to the world and all of the things. Okay. So stay tuned.

Speaker 2: (00:41)
Welcome to your source for tips, tools, and support to help you be that mom that is tuned in and proactive for yourself, your family, and for the wild ride of raising kids in this digital age, inspired by a mother's love with a relatable, real life. Proud to be that mom flair. This is the bead that mom movement with your host Dolly Denson. Alrighty.

Speaker 1: (01:06)
So today I'm going to talk about another option that you have to keep connected with your kiddo. That is not a smartphone. I implore you to please not put a smartphone in your child's hands. You know, let them figure out the world before the world tells them what to be and who to, you know, act as an, all of the things that come with that smartphone. There's absolutely not one single child out there that can navigate this. And if we're not going to throw them into a swimming pool without first teaching them how to swim and giving them [inaudible] to help them to navigate the water and figure out their footing in all of that, we should not be putting a smartphone in their hands and expecting them to just know how to navigate it and to manage all of the feelings and all of the things that it comes with it.

Speaker 1: (01:51)
So, you know, if you've listened to my podcasts, that is my greatest regret. My greatest reason while I am here is because I want to bring you options. I want to bring you awareness. I want to bring you tools and tips to make sure that you can navigate this from a place of love while being proactive and knowing that the digital realm of parenting is absolutely one that we can not ignore. So the thing that I am talking about today is called the tick talk watch. So the tick talk watch is not something that is new. It has been around, but it's not something I have shared about on the podcast. So that is what we're going to talk about today. So this is something that if you have a child that's like five to 10, five to 11, somewhere in there, it is a great option for you.

Speaker 1: (02:35)
One watch that I have mentioned in a previous episode is the gizmo watch. And that is also a great option. So definitely I can put in the show notes, those links. So you can compare these, but from what I'm hearing from moms, with younger kids, a water preferring this tick talk, watch for the features and all the things that it has. So let's break it down and talk about it and then check out the link in the show notes to grab yourself one, if you have younger kiddos, so the tick talk watch has global coverage. You can make phone calls with it. You can receive two way voice and wifi calls, and you can set it up to where only approved contacts can call the watch when your secure firewall is on. So that's protecting your kid from someone trying to access them who you don't know.

Speaker 1: (03:22)
It also has face talk, which is like FaceTime. So you can do two way video calling to see family and friends that are on the approved contact list. Anytime, anywhere you can call between two tick-tock watches, or if you don't have a watch, which you likely won't you download the tick talk. I cannot say those words together. That is a tongue twister. You download the app on any phone and then you can talk to them through their watch and your app. So that is awesome. It also has a camera on it. So your kid can take pictures, can send them to, you can save memorable moments for their lives and all of those things. It has a messaging center with over 60 preloaded, text responses, voice messaging, photos, emojis, and gifs. Your a child will always have a way to connect with you, friends and family, everybody on the approved list.

Speaker 1: (04:11)
And then you can choose between individual or group messages. So the whole family can stay connected. You can also create your own customized taxed up to 25 of them that fit your child's lifestyle best. So they always have a response ready to go. It has built in wifi and GPS, so you can always figure out where they are, and it includes a history route. So you can track their movement from a, you know, what they're doing or where and where they're at, and also use it to locate the tech talk. Watch. If it's been misplaced, you can also set up reminders so you can help your child to learn better habits, independence, time management skills, whatever it is that you are wanting them to be reminded about, such as feeding a pet, drinking some water, whatever those things are. It has simple alarms. It has 50 plus pre-programmed default reminders, and then the customizable alerts to make it easier for them to stay on task.

Speaker 1: (05:05)
And then it also has kid proved durability. So it's designed by parents to stand up to the bumps and the drops and the oops, that will happen with anything digitally related. It also has customizable watch faces. So you can personalize it and switch between wallpapers backgrounds, as well as colorful wristbands to fit your child's preference and style additional features as it has a do not disturb setting. So you can set it up to where, you know, you freeze the screen and they can't use it for anything, but being a simple watch, you can pause, alert to notifications so that it's not sending them notifications in school, or, you know, during study time or whatever, it has a stopwatch on a timer. And then if you allow it, it has a dialing pad where they can dial a phone number. You can turn this off. If you want to, to allow only contacts from approved numbers.

Speaker 1: (05:55)
And then it has the wifi connectability. Now, as far as monthly plans, they have a free, they call it red pocket SIM card that offers the best deal where you do a pay as you go plan, there's no contracts, there's no activation fees. You choose between two mobile networks. And then there is a $10 monthly plan that includes 500 minutes, 500 texts and 500 megabytes of data. Check their website out for more details on that. So all in all this looks like such a great option for your kiddo. If you want to stay connected with them, if you want to give them a little bit of independence, but be able to, you know, still kind of know where they are and communicate with them and all the things without giving them the smartphone and all the dangers that come with that, all of the addictive tendencies that that will draw out of kiddos and all of the things.

Speaker 1: (06:45)
So the Tik TOK watch sounds like such a great option to keep us connected with our kids, without giving them access to the world. As you know, I am so very passionate about. So check out the link in the show notes to see what it is all about. Grab yours today.
