Proud to be that mom flair. This is the be that mom movement with your host Dolly Denson,

(01:02): Hey friend. Okay. You've probably been wondering where in the world is Dolly. Well I have been a little bit Mia, because this COVID thing has like wreaked havoc in my local community and my nurse practitioner job has me out in that community, but that is where I have been. Holy cow. What a crazy time. This is. Okay. Just to highlight a quick review before we get started, I just want to give a shout out to SMC zero three 26, and this person writes, wow, how much this message is needed right now. Thanks Dolly for encouraging us and giving all great tips to be that mom, you are welcome. And I hope you continue to listen because it is my goal to help other fellow that moms out there to be your best and to support you. So let's get on with the topic for today. Today.

(01:57): I want to flip the switch on a digital narrative and let's talk about how our child having a phone can actually help them. And in this case, it actually saved their life. I stumbled across this story and I was amazed because this app that I am speaking about is one that I personally have used for quite some time, even before my oldest was of driving age. And it wasn't necessarily for her. It was for me and my husband and, uh, some coworkers to keep track of each other because we're also busy. And so when I heard this story, I had no idea that this app had these features. So I had to check it out and I have been using the app to help me with my teams and their driving, but I didn't know it had this feature. So the app that I am speaking about his life three 60, have you ever heard of it?

(02:51): Are you using it? They actually have millions of users and it has been out for quite some time. I meant to look up the exact time that it was produced, but it has been out in the world for quite some time and is used by millions of users monthly. Okay. So let's dive into this app a little bit, and then I will tell you the story that I heard this app will do GPS tracking. So whichever devices, when you grant access for your device to be tracked by this app, and you are invited to join a circle like a family circle, and everybody in that circle can see your location. But the other things that it does is that it provides roadside assistance and it provides a driving report like how fast you're driving, what you're driving, driving habits are such as stopping suddenly. And then it gives you kind of a weekly summary of all of those things.

(03:46): And then on top of that, it also does crash detection. And I did not know that it had this feature and actually didn't have it turned on for my own family until I read this story. But the story was that a teenager, I'm not sure how old she was, but I'm assuming 16 or 17. She was driving in an area that was not super populated. And she got into an accident. I'm not sure the details of it if it was just like her colliding with something like a tree or something like that. But she got into the accident and I believe was knocked unconscious conscious. I can't ever say that word. And it was the app that notified the emergency services and got her help and also notified her family. So when I heard this story, I went investigating with live three 60 and discovered that they have it where you can turn it on and it will alert when you have like a sudden stop or sudden change in movement.

(04:44): You have to be going at least 25 miles an hour. But if you come to an abrupt stop, it will send a notification to the person, you know, that has the phone that came to an abrupt stop. And if there's no response, then within five minutes, it alerts your circle members. And if you have noticed, are you have designated any emergency contacts? And then the premium feature that it has for a small monthly fee is it will notify local emergency services. So in this case, the family had all of those things set up and in place, and it did notify emergency services. And within, I think like 10 minutes or less, she had help. And if she hadn't had this set up, she would have sat there for quite some time before anybody realized that anything had happened to her or that she was missing or anything like that.

(05:35): So the family is attributing life three 60 to saving her life. When I read that, I was like, Holy cow, we can talk all day long about keeping our kids safe and, you know, keeping the social media and all of the things out of their hands. But this is my point in how, as they get more independent, we have to have open lines of communication and, you know, kind of let the string out a little bit as we're also being very aware and monitoring all of the things, but the phones are not all bad. You know, this is such an amazing example of how it can be used for good. Now this app, when I was researching about doing this podcast, I was researching different places and it's quite interesting to go to tick, talk in search for the life three 60. It was just put in the search thing like three 60.

(06:26): And there are a ton of kids that are seeing that this app spies, or is a stalker and that parents shouldn't be allowed to use it. There's even a couple of accounts that talk about how to get around it and disable it. Kids will get around anything if they try too hard. There's even some adults that talk about the argument around that maybe the app is going to sell your information and it's just not okay to track your kids like that. You should be trusting them more in all of this type of stuff. Okay. I get that. But personally, like for my own family, this is strictly for me to be able to know where they are at. And I think my husband would probably correct that grammar if he was listening to this and he would say, this is for me to know where they are.

(07:15): Cause he's always correcting me like that. Cause he used to teach English and he's very into grammar. But my point is that I don't use it because I don't trust my kids. I use it because I want to know where they are and when they are going to be getting home. If I know they're going to be getting home soon, I can look at the app versus texting them. And then they have to text me back while they're driving. You know? So to me, it's just a way for me to have kind of peace of mind. It's not for me to spy on them. You know, if you have a situation to where you don't trust your kid out there, then maybe it is a way to kind of track them. But for the most part, I think this app is just an amazing thing for us to be able to know her.

(07:56): We are all located. I hope this was helpful for you. It is one of those stories where I wanted to highlight it because it's just such a positive thing and the phones aren't all bad. They're actually very, very helpful. And we just have to keep that in mind and keep the whole awareness around all of the things that you know, that creates accessibility through the phone. But also we can use it for good. Okay. Hope you found this helpful and I will chat with you next time. Okay. If you are that mom that is stressing about all of this stuff and you're just like, Holy cow, Dolly, there's so much to deal with. Seriously. I want to tell you about one thing that has helped me so so much, and it is all natural and just something that kind of takes the edge off of everything in the world that's going on right now.

(08:40): And that is My Soul CBD. The only CBD company I trust there are a lot out there and this is not a highly regulated area. So I wouldn't trust all of them.
